Looking for the easiest and most versatile meal ever? This Slow Cooker Taco Meat recipe is it!!
What more fun than taco Tuesday? Taco Saturday LOL! One morning I was trying to think of an easy dinner and knew we would be out all day yet I wanted to come home to something ready to go. Of course, a slow cooker recipe seemed like a must. I looked in my refrigerator and saw two pounds of ground beef that need to be used. Then I thought of doing a slow cooker taco meat! So, I totally winged it and threw in the raw ground beef, a jar of salsa, and a few tablespoons of my homemade taco seasoning. I left for the day and had no idea what I was going to come home to. It cooked on low for the day and it turned out to be the best taco meat!
I turned the cooked meat to the warm setting and laid out the kitchen island with plates, napkins, sour cream, salsa, taco shells, flour tortillas, pico de gallo, tortilla chips, enchilada sauce, diced onion, diced red bell pepper, black beans, cheddar cheese for everyone to make there own beef tacos, taco salad, and taco dip for nachos! It was the easiest taco bar ever! You could even lay out single-portion bags of Doritos for walking tacos
I hope you love this crock pot taco meat recipe as much as we do! I hope you add your favorite toppings to make a fun dinner-time taco night! It has become our favorite way and easy way to make for busy nights family favorite in our home!
The recipe literally couldn’t be more simple!
choose 1lb of ground meat, which can be ground turkey or lean ground beef or ground chicken anything you choose will make delicious taco meat
Add one 8oz jar of store-bought salsa
Add in your favorite taco seasoning of your choice or your favorite ratios (I use 1 tsp each) of garlic powder, chili powder, ground cumin, onion powder, cayenne powder
cook on high for 2-3 hours or 3-4 hours if you double the recipe and on low for 5-6 hours or 6-8 hours if your double it
You can use the slow cooking method but you can also use a high pressure instant pot. I make a double batch and store it in a freezer bag or airtight container and toss it in the freezer for later.
