Here are the Seven must-have essential oil accessories every essential oil lover needs to get the most out of the oils!
Here are my favorite essential oil products/accessories!!! I started with essential oils probably about six years ago. I saw the Young Living Aria essential oil diffuser and was obsessed!! I honestly didn’t know much about essential oils at all, I just knew I needed that diffuser LOL!
So first things first, the aroma! I wanted oil for fragrance. I am a candle junkie!! Or I should say I was. The truth is I am not a very responsible candle lover, the number of times I have left a candle smoldering and had black smoke on the walls is too embarrassing to count! The beauty of a diffuser is its safety too!
I saw the aria diffuser and no joke fell in love. I was honestly shaken by the price but it seriously is worth every penny!!
So now to the oil, not all oils are created equal. Seriously, some are honestly pretty bad. Not only does this affect the smell but you are potentially breathing in the junk.
I started with just a non-toxic home fragrance and grew from there. I realized not only that the oils I was purchasing could make my house smell great but that I could (super easily) make home cleaning products and personal care items that were not only cheaper and nontoxic but so easy to make.
I buy all my oils and my cleaning and skin care products from Young Living, they are my favorite essential oils! They are certified pure essential oils.
Here are some of my favorite DIY recipes using my favorite oils!!! They will make you an essential oil lover too!
Room spray:
INGREDIENTS:
- Distilled water (tap is okay but distilled is best)
- 1 tsp witch hazel
- 30 drops of essential oil of your choice (see recipes below)
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine witch hazel and essential oils in a 4 oz spray bottle.
- Top with water.
- Shake well.
Wool Dryer balls:
This is probably my favorite!! Replace your dryer sheets with these dryer balls! Simply drop 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil on the dryer ball and toss it in your dryer!! (here are my absolute favorite oil scents)
Laundry detergent:
- Pour your Thieves laundry soap equally distributed into the three plastic pump bottles, using the funnel.
- Add 2 capfuls of Thieves household cleaner to each of the three bottles.
- Add 30 drops of essential oils to each of the three bottles – I use 15 drops of Lavender and 15 drops of Lemongrass or 30-40 drops of oils of your choice!
Out of all of my essential oil recipes, the face serum has to be my favorite!
Face glow serums:
- 5 drops of frankincense.
- 5 drops yarrow | pom.
- 5 drops geranium.
- 5 drops lavender.
- 10 drops of vitamin E oil
- Carrier oil of choice (I love jojoba)
Bath soak
So you can add your own oil but my favorite is to put all of my empty essential oil bottles into a large jar with Epsom salts. The Epsom salts dry out the bottles and leave the salts smelling so so good! Yes, all those random bottles combined smell great! Seriously! Plus, you’re not wasting an ounce of costly oils! I use this directly in my bath or in skin care recipes using Epsom salts!
If you want something a little more involved here is one of my favorite bath recipes!
- Pour 1 Cup of Epsom Salt into a clean mixing bowl. …
- Mix 1 Cup of Sea Salt into the Epsom Salt. …
- Add 1/4 baking soda to the salts and stir well. …
- Add 20 drops of Pure Essential Oil. …
- Stir in the Essential Oils very well. …
- Spoon your Bath Salts into clean jars. …
- It’s time to decorate your jar a little. …
